  1. Orthos is a beautiful timepiece star rating

Posted by Michael Zuccardo on 25th Jul 2018

I just got the blue and orange Orthos watch second hand. I've wanted this piece for a while now but they were sold out on Janis. Over all my only critique is that the stainless steel bracelet does not have enough removable links. Two more would have been perfect for my 6.5 inch wrist. As it is I can't wear it because I can't size it down enough. Such a wast!
My second disappointment is the lume is weak. It takes a lot of light exposure to get it glowing, and it does not last very long for a diver.
On the up side the fit and finish are superb for a watch in this price range. It is a very attractive piece, reminiscent of my Omega 300 Seamaster without being a true homage .
Overall, I am very pleased with the Orthos.

  2. Pleasing Watch star rating

Posted by Unknown on 5th Jan 2018

Having the watch for a few months I'm quite pleased with it! What else can I impart?

Its bracelet configuration out of the box is LARGE, you're likely going to need to remove links. The dive timer bezel is stiff to the point where sometimes I find I can't get a good grip on it with my finger tips in order to turn it, but can use the palm of my hand to rotate it. So I suppose that's minimal bezel play?

I like the colours of the watch, as well as its overall fit and finish. Its a fairly heavy watch, but I enjoy its wrist presence. Its bracelet has minimally pinched the hairs on my wrist. I think its well built and find the "depth" when gazing into the dial to be pleasing. Its kept time decently.

Overall I really think is a great value for the money!

  3. Excellent watch star rating

This is my fourth L&H timepiece, and like the others, it is excellent. The colors work well, and the sunburst dial is fantastic. Bracelet is solid and very well constructed. So far, running well within spec, and one of my more accurate automatics. Contemplating my next watch purchase, and likely will be a Janis product. Great value. At current sale prices, this is a steal.

  4. Great Watch star rating

I really like my Orthos with the orange dial. My friend asked me if it was an Omega! The watch is well constructed and good looking. I've been wearing it for a couple of weeks now and the different finishes are holding up well. A couple of the reviewers said the band didn't have enough removable links - I didn't have that issue.

  5. Bogarting lots of wrist time from other sad watches in my collection star rating

Posted by Josh Blaine on 23rd May 2016

I have had just about a year with my blue and orange Orthos and it remains as one of my absolute favorites. The fit and finish is superb, keeps better time than advertised, has one of the best bezel actions from any watch I have ever used and the blue sunburst dial is just stunning.

If your on the fence, take the leap. You will not be disappointed.
